A PC station with WinCC Runtime Professional installed on it is used as a control center. The MCD gives us the same feedback all the time. The MatrikonOPC Simulation Server creates an simulated environment so that in the event of a problem, no real process data is lost. I need a pop-up to display if they turn on the pump, and a certain PLC condition is met.Opc ua test server. Have a button that turns on and off a pump. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, I don't yet have a support contract with RA. I feel like I have all the puzzle pieces, but I'm not putting them together right. So do I just create a Macro called "Macro1" that says "If ConditionTag then RemoteDisplayTag 4 else 0" (if my popup display number was 4)? But then, what expression would I put in the global connection macro?

The example they give after doesn't seem to help me, as the button the operator would push is already serving a separate purpose. The macros must be named Macro1, Macro2, Macro3, Macro4, and Macro5 in order to work with global connections.

It goes on to say " FactoryTalk View allows you to create up to five macros for use with global connections. It says that I can set a macro to run when" A specified tag or expression changes to a new non-zero value (using global connections). I think they might be the key but the user guide isn't all that clear. I see that there are global connection macros as well, I'm not quite sure how they work. So if I had some way of constantly checking if that tag has become true, and set the RDNumber appropriately, that could work. In my PLC logic I have a tag setup that checks that both the condition I'm worried about and the button in question has been pressed. Well, I suppose it doesn't need to be tied to the button. I understand I can use the global connection Remote Display Number to pull up the window I want, but I can't seem to find a way to tie the macro which adjusts the Remote Display number to this momentary push button I'm using. However, under certain conditions I need the button to instead produce a pop-up which asks the operator to confirm that they want to continue. I currently have a button that engages a pump when it is pressed.
